Social Emotional Academic Learning Oct18-Dec13
Social Emotional Academic Learning Groups promote students' social and emotional skills which impact student behavior and academic performance. These weekly group sessions provide an opportunity to acquire and effectively apply the attitude, knowledge and skills that are necessary to understand, manage and regulate emotions and behaviors. In these weekly sessions students will have the opportunity to work on important social and emotional skills like: Coping with stress and anxiety related to school/homework Reframing negative statements, assertiveness Understanding one’s strengths and ways to build on them Handling rejection, teasing and bullying Coping with frustration related to learning
